Caracterización e identificación agronómica, morfológica citoembriológica y molecular de híbridos interespecíficos de Brachiaria Colegio de Postgraduados
Poblete Vargas, Jaime.

Genetic diversity in cultivated carioca common beans based on molecular marker analysis Genet. Mol. Biol.
Perseguini,Juliana Morini Küpper Cardoso; Chioratto,Alisson Fernando; Zucchi,Maria Imaculada; Colombo,Carlos Augusto; Carbonell,Sérgio Augusto Moraes; Mondego,Jorge Mauricio Costa; Gazaffi,Rodrigo; Garcia,Antonio Augusto Franco; Campos,Tatiana de; Souza,Anete Pereira de; Rubiano,Luciana Benchimol.
A wide array of molecular markers has been used to investigate the genetic diversity among common bean species. However, the best combination of markers for studying such diversity among common bean cultivars has yet to be determined. Few reports have examined the genetic diversity of the carioca bean, commercially one of the most important common beans in Brazil. In this study, we examined the usefulness of two molecular marker systems (simple sequence repeats - SSRs and amplified fragment length polymorphisms - AFLPs) for assessing the genetic diversity of carioca beans. The amount of information provided by Roger's modified genetic distance was used to analyze SSR data and Jaccards similarity coefficient was used for AFLP data. Seventy SSRs were...

Molecular diversity and genetic relationships of mango germplasm from Chiapas, Mexico Agrociencia
Gálvez-López,Didiana; Salvador-Figueroa,Miguel; Becerra-Leor,Enrique N.; González-Paz,Maurilio; Hernández-Delgado,Sanjuana; Mayek-Pérez,Netzahualcóyotl.
Most of mango (Mangifera indica L.) production in Chiapas, México is located at Soconusco region where a large morphological and genetic diversity have been detected due the free-pollination among plants. The characterization and identification of outstanding plants can be useful for mango diversity conservation as well as the use for mango breeding. Forty-one local mango accessions collected in five locations (Huehuetán, Pijijiapan, Tuxtla Chico, Tapachula, Escuintla) in the state of Chiapas, México, were subjected to AFLP analysis and then compared with 19 mango cultivars. AFLP analysis indicated high levels of polymorphisms among accessions (> 84 %). AMOVA analysis indicated significant genetic differentiation (F ST = 0.23743) among and within mango...

Population genomics shed light on the demographic and adaptive histories of European invasion in the Pacific oyster, Crassostrea gigas ArchiMer
Rohfritsch, Audrey; Bierne, Nicolas; Boudry, Pierre; Heurtebise, Serge; Cornette, Florence; Lapegue, Sylvie.
Crassostrea gigas originated from the Pacific coast of Asia, but was introduced into several European countries in the early 1970s. Natural populations have now spread across the length of the western seaboard of Europe. To elucidate the demographic and selective processes at play during this rapid expansion, genome-scan analysis was performed on different populations. High diversities and low differentiation were observed overall, but significant genetic differentiation was found among newly established populations and between the newly established northern group and a nearly panmictic group composed of southern European populations and a population from Japan. Loss of genetic diversity was also seen in the north, likely caused by founder events during...

Toxigenic profile and AFLP variability of Alternaria alternata and Alternaria infectoria occurring on wheat BJM
Oviedo,María Silvina; Sturm,María Elena; Reynoso,María Marta; Chulze,Sofia Noemi; Ramirez,María Laura.
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the ability to produce alternariol (AOH), alternariol monomethyl ether (AME) and tenuazonic acid (TA) by A. alternata and A. infectoria strains recovered from wheat kernels obtained from one of the main production area in Argentina; to confirm using AFLPs molecular markers the identify of the isolates up to species level, and to evaluate the intra and inter-specific genetic diversity of these two Alternaria species. Among all the Alternaria strains tested (254), 84% of them were able to produce mycotoxins. The most frequent profile of toxin production found was the co-production of AOH and AME in both species tested. TA was only produced by strains of A. alternata. Amplified fragment polymorphism (AFLPs)...
